Nonprofit Organisations Day at FaME connected students with organisations that help in the region
20. May 2026On May 5, 2026, the first annual Nonprofit Organisations Day at FaME took place at the Faculty of Management and Economics at TBU in Zlín. The event was aimed at fostering cooperation between the faculty and the nonprofit sector and at raising awareness among students and faculty members about the activities of organisations that play a significant role in helping people and developing civil society.
Five non-profit organisations participated in the event: the Pavel Novotný Endowment Fund, the Educo Early Care Centre, Bellis, Naděje, and Dvě D Zlín. Throughout the day, their representatives had the opportunity to present their activities, projects, and opportunities for student and faculty involvement.
The program included an informal meeting between representatives of the non-profit organisations and the dean of the faculty and the vice-dean for internal relations and quality. The discussion focused on current topics and challenges faced by non-profit organisations. A significant part of the conversation centred on volunteering among the younger generation and on ways to introduce students to meaningful forms of engagement in public service.
Representatives of non-profit organisations also attended the final presentations of socially responsible projects by first-year students as part of the Fundamentals of Project Management course.
The event was also linked to a charity auction, to which both students and faculty members donated items. The auction was held on the Dobrobot platform, and the proceeds supported the Pavel Novotný Endowment Fund. A total of 5,844 CZK was raised across 12 auctions, all of which were successful.
Nonprofit Organisations Day at FaME demonstrated that sustainability is not merely about environmental issues, but also about responsibility toward people, communities, and the region. The faculty’s connection with the nonprofit sector also supports the university’s third role and creates opportunities for collaboration, volunteering, student projects, and the practical application of knowledge across management, economics, marketing, and project management.
We would like to thank all participating organisations, students, faculty members, and organisers for their participation and support of this meaningful event.
