The HR Award at FaME Received Support from the Faculty’s Scientific Council

On June 12, 2026, the HR Excellence in Research Award initiative was presented to members of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Management and Economics at TBU in Zlín. The purpose of the presentation was to familiarise the members of the Scientific Council with the significance of this European initiative, the faculty’s progress to date, and the main conclusions drawn from the GAP analysis, questionnaire surveys, thematic workshops, and working group meetings.

The presentation outlined the reasons why FaME became involved in the HR Excellence in Research Award process, particularly the growing importance of a high-quality and internationally attractive research environment, the need for more transparent rules for career development, mentoring, and recruitment, as well as the importance of promoting research ethics, Open Science, and research data management.

Members of the Scientific Council were also briefed on the faculty’s main strengths and the areas FaME intends to further develop in line with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers. Among the proposed measures, particular emphasis was placed on supporting Open Science and data management, developing mentoring and support for doctoral students and junior academics, drafting an OTM-R policy, strengthening the onboarding of new employees, improving internal communication, and other steps aimed at internationalising the research environment.

The presentation received a positive response. Members of the Scientific Council appreciated that the faculty is systematically addressing this area and views the HR Award not only as a formal process but also as an opportunity for the long-term development of the academic and research environment. At the same time, they offered to provide support to the faculty if needed and to share experiences from their own institutions and professional practice.

Presenting the initiative to the Scientific Council was another step in engaging key stakeholders in preparing for the HR Excellence in Research Award at FaME. The feedback received and the expert support offered will be utilised to further develop the Action Plan and implement the proposed measures.
