Mr. Michal Pilík elected to the position of the Dean of FaME

The new Dean of the Faculty of Management and Economics was elected – doc. Ing. Michal Pilík, Ph.D., the current Vice-Dean for Pedagogical Activities and Lifelong Learning.

Michal Pilík was unanimously elected by the Academic Senate in the first round for the period 2024-2028. He will replace prof. Ing. David Tuček, Ph.D., who successfully led the Faculty for eight years.  Doc. Pilík must be appointed by the Rector of the University and will take up his new role this April.

“I am very closely connected with the Faculty and I am interested in its further development, I feel ready to face the challenges that are ahead of me as the Dean,” said doc. Michal Pilík after his election and then he added: “I believe that during my four-year term, I will develop the Faculty in all respects to make it a pleasant place for the students, academic staff and other employees.”

The future Dean also plans, among other things, to further support colleagues in their pedagogical work and their personal and professional development, promote cooperation between departments and he promises to support all students while maintaining a high standard of teaching. He also sees an area for change in increasing the number of students in the follow-up master’s programmes.

The forty-five-year-old graduate of Economics and Management at the Faculty of Management and Economics of TBU in Zlín has been working at the Faculty as an employee since 2003. He has held the positions of assistant, assistant professor, secretary of the department, and the Vice-Dean for Pedagogical Activities and Lifelong Learning. For the last eight years, he has also been a Statutory Deputy Dean. His specialization is management and marketing. He also studied Pedagogy, Teaching and Social Care at the Faculty of Humanities (FHS) of TBU in Zlín. In 2007, he received his PhD from FaME and habilitated there in 2015 in the field of Economics and Management. In addition to his teaching activities, he has led a number of projects and is a member of several scientific boards.
